Keep Kensal Green

In 2021, Ballymore announced a strategic partnership with Sainsbury’s to build “Project Flourish”, a £1.7 billion regeneration scheme with 3,500 housing units on the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea’s last remaining brownfield site.

The 18 acre site stretches from Ladbroke Grove to North Kensington.

One of the key areas of concern is the threat to resident’s health because of site contamination and toxins which could be released into the atmosphere around Sainsbury’s and beyond for a radius of 5-7km during remediation and a 10 year phased construction.

Ballymore’s plan to build a large scale development around Sainsbury’s is like taking Kentish Town and dropping it behind the cemetery.
